Thursday Mornings at the Center
a six-week class
In the Satipatthana Sutta (Foundations of Mindfulness) the Buddha states “one abides contemplating the body (feelings, mind and dharmas) internally, externally and internally and externally. . . “.
If we are to fully engage with life our meditation practice must be internal and external and in so doing we connect with the eternal that connects all beings. In this way, we have an impact not only on our individual life but we truly share the merit of our practice with all lives.
During this course, we will investigate the internal and external phenomenon in Buddhist meditation practice, looking through various lenses both in the specific teachings on mindfulness but in many other teachings as well.
Participants should have some prior meditation experience, and it is helpful to have thorough experience with a foundational course or text on topics such as Insight Meditation or MBSR.
